One of the best parts of serving as your City Councillor is creating opportunities for us to come together as a community. Every year, I host and co-host a wide range of events designed to celebrate our neighbourhood, foster connections, and make Orléans West – Innes an even better place to live.

From seasonal favourites like my Spring Egg-Stravaganza and Fall Pumpkin Parade, to informative social gatherings such as my Senior’s Tea Speaker Series, these events are about more than just fun—they’re about building a stronger, more connected community. Whether it’s enjoying a Community Association’s neighbourhood festival, sharing ideas during a Budget Consultation, or planting trees to create a greener future, each event reflects the values we share: collaboration, sustainability, and inclusivity.

I’m proud to say these events have grown year after year, thanks to the incredible participation and enthusiasm of residents like you. Hundreds of pumpkins lighting the forest, thousands of eggs found amongst the apple trees, and countless conversations that help shape the decisions I make at City Hall—these moments matter. They remind me why I chose public service and why I believe in the power of community.

My Annual Egg-Stravaganza at the Orléans Fruit Farm

Each spring, I’m proud to host my Egg-Stravaganza — a joyful, family-friendly celebration that brings our community together for a day of fun, laughter, and thousands of colourful eggs!

Generously hosted by the Orléans Fruit Farm, this event takes place in one of the most picturesque settings in the community. Families arrive to find the beautiful apple orchard transformed into a springtime wonderland, with eggs tucked between the trees and excitement blooming all around.

My Annual Dog Swim – A Splashing Good Time at Bearbrook Pool

One of the most joyful events I organize each year is my Annual Dog Swim — a fun and energetic way to celebrate the end of summer with our four-legged family members. Held annually at Bearbrook Pool, this event gives dogs the chance to take over the pool for one final splash before it closes for the season.

Calling All Young Artists – I need you for my Annual Christmas Card!

One of the most heartwarming traditions I’ve had the honour to continue is the Annual Christmas Card Contest, a legacy started by former Mayor Jim Watson. Each year, this contest invites children from across our community to submit festive, imaginative artwork – and the winning design becomes the official image on my holiday cards!

Seniors’ Tea Speaker Series – A Gathering of Conversation and Connection

Twice a year — once in the spring and again in the fall — I host my Seniors’ Tea Speaker Series, a warm and welcoming event designed to bring seniors together for an afternoon of engaging conversation, informative presentations, and community connection.

Community & Holiday Skate – A Winter Tradition on Ice

Each winter, I’m proud to host two joyful skating events that bring our community together: the Community Skate and the Holiday Skate. These free, family-friendly gatherings are a wonderful way to embrace the season, get active, and connect with neighbours in a fun and festive setting.

The Chapel Hill Pumpkin Parade – A Glowing Community Tradition!

Every year on November 1st, I co-host the Chapel Hill Pumpkin Parade with the wonderful École élémentaire catholique L’Étoile-de-l’Est Parent Council, and it has quickly become one of the community’s most cherished events.

Held at Louis Perrault Park, the Pumpkin Parade is a magical way to keep the Halloween spirit alive just a little longer. Families from across Chapel Hill and beyond are invited to bring their carved pumpkins and help transform the park’s pathway into a glowing trail of creativity and seasonal cheer.

Pop-Up in the Park – Connecting with You, All Summer Long

Throughout the summer, I host a series of informal meet-ups called Pop-Up in the Park — one of my favourite ways to connect directly with residents across our ward. These events are casual, friendly, and designed to make it easy for you to stop by, say hello, and share what’s on your mind.
